I'm a digital artist with an old Canon 9000Pro Mark II. I'm trying to get back into making prints for my own personal folio. I originally got the printer for $300 back in 2013 for a commercial project, and then just held onto it.
I was refilling cartridges with a Precision Colors kit for a while, but I didn't keep up with it and eventually the heads dried out. I went through the cleaning process of soaking in Windex and flushing, but it didn't work so I've gone ahead and ordered a new head.
I plan on switching over to OEM inks because I noticed after a while the third party inks faded. I also want to put more effort into profiling my display and printer in order to get better results.
I actually worked at a large format print shop for a period waaay back in 2006. I was running large vinyl banner printers, UV and fabric printers on the night shift. I tried to learn more about profiling the printers during that time, but I left before really getting into it.
Looking forward to learning more in the forums!
