I have attached a file with a scan of three different pages showing the problem.

My printer is smearing or skipping and smearing at 4 3/4 to 5 1/4 inches from the left side. Started recently. All colors do this. However, in addition, black is overprinting letters offset by a fraction all across the page.

If the problem were a plugged nozzle I would expect a horizontal line, not a vertical inking issue.

I did a hot water head cleaning. The problem stayed exactly the same.

I use the printer primarily for text, but images now and then.

I have been going back and forth between Canon ink and Inkfarm ink with no problem -- until now.

Stratman:

Perfect!!

I did have a printer jam recently, but hadn't connected the two events. When I looked at the timer strip I could plainly see some grease. Cleaned it off. Presto -- printing correctly again.
