Only when you print your photos with Canon ink on Canon paper the colours will be correct.

In fact I never seen a OEM printer and OEM paper pass RGB certification test better then a custom profile. Gray scale is the culprit here.

I have noticed a magenta cast especially visible in grey scales on more than one Canon printer with OEM inks and OEM paper. This cast seems to be normal for many canon printers for home use.

Indeed.
That's maybe why they started with grey ink.

With profiling I was able to print neutral grey with 5 colours (3th party ink), although on colour prints the toning was much more gradual with a 6th (grey) cart.

Hi @Geoff69

Inktec are not German inks.
Inktec inks are made in Korea.

After issues with Sudhaus inks (blue cast) and Image Specialists inks from OctoInkjet (green cast) (see https://www.printerknowledge.com/threads/green-cast-on-photo-prints.11081/), I ordered in april this year Inktec inks from Tintenkammer for my MG5150 printer (using 525/526 cartridges).

With Inktec inks, I only can see a light drift to yellow, simply resolved by adding 10% water in the yellow ink bottle, no need to apply corrections in the driver settings !

Of all the inks I tested (Sudhaus, Image Specialist, Octopus), Inktec inks produce the best colour match, in my case of course.

Anyway, I recommend not ordering Sudhaus inks . . .

The German ink I stated was "topink24.de" not Inktec .. I have never used that ink ?

Topink24 use InkTec in their carts, so you were using their inks unknowingly, and I would not recommend anyone diluting their inks with water...
