Marrutt in U.K. offered this ink for Canon users for a long time, but not anymore, the resp. internet pages in the shop only display random text for the ink solutions
http://www.marrutt.com/find-my-printer/canon/canon-s9000
so this ink is almost gone. The Fotonic ink showed up as a pretty fade resistant ink in tests over the last years, but I would asume that the demand dropped to nil over time, typical refill users go for a low price as the main purchasing decision.
The Fotonic XG inks for Epson printers are still available at Marrutt.
The last source I can find for Canon compatible Fotonic inks is smartinks
https://www.smartink.nl/lyson-fotonic-xg-dye-inkt-black.html with other colors available as well.
It's probably time to think about a last buy for those who are using or are interested in this ink.
All other Canon users interested in fade stability may either use the genuine Chromalife inks in cartridges or switch to pigment inks running on Pro 10+ etc printer models, but only A3 or larger.

... or used the - not very popular - first generation of Canon pigment office printers MX7600 and IX7000
... and should switch to - their successor - Maxify series as pressed on this forum :D

If it were me, I wouldn’t touch Marrutt/lyson inks for any of my Canon printers, they maybe ok in Epson printers but their website does not instil confidence in any of their products, sorry it sounds all too good to be true...

Firstly, the inks shown on display look to me to be generic or pigment ink, then they show compatible CLI-8 carts, and they also offer and promote CISS for the Pro 9000, who in their right mind would use should these things on such a great printer.

If their dye inks were that good, they shouldn’t have to resort to overzealous claims that their inks will last for 25 years and more, when we all know that’s total rubbish, and it’s probably doubtful if OEM dye ink would even last that long...

I will stick with OEM cartridges and my good quality inks that I know will fade fairly quickly, and I’m under no illusions because I know this will happen to all dye inks...

yes, you are right @The Hat, Marrutt has taken off the Fotonic XG inks for the older Canon printers but keep it yet for the Pro 9000 - at pretty steep prices , so such inks will remain niche products.
http://www.marrutt.com/find-my-prin...ro-9000-mark-ii-printer-ink#lyson-ink-refills
and it's difficult to find - if I enter 'Fotonic Canon' into their search field, I just get to Canon S9000, not to the resp. inks for the Pro 9000 - they may not even like to sell these inks looking at such irritating web pages.
Any of such claims about longevity suffer credibility, on the Marrutt pages or elsewhere like most other claims - 'UV resistant' etc.
I'm not a regular customer of Marrutt, but I couldn't complain about a few small orders in the past, but their pricing appears to be pretty much on the high side.

and the fact that it really seems to be one and the same ink for epson piezo and canon bubble jet still makes me sceptical
Now that doesn’t surprise me one little bit, it goes along with the rest of their outrageous claims...:ep
