Well, I like to try out such DIY ink sets rather than doing serious print jobs. And Eb6 is only one of them, see my post #13...
I was suspecting your diluant, but if it's the 100% bk it must be the ink or the ink channel.
So the first assumptions of ISF and pharmacist may be right.
...but my experience was a surprisingly clog-free Eb-6...

BTW your B&W photography is really worth seeing..

I'm not that ambitious in trying out different inksets. I owe a huge debt to guys like you and Paul Roark! (I assume that's a zero between "martin" and "reg"?)

Does ISF stand for Ink Specialists Fsomething? As for a dilutant there again I bow to Paul - I mix my own, the one he recommends for my printer (1400) is 59% distilled water, 29% glycerol, 11% PhotoFlo and 1% LFN - all by volume. The last two I had left over when I shut down the darkroom, and the glycercol I get at the pharmacy. I did eliminate the pesky startup clog in the K position for a while, by doing the shoeshine cleaning under the head, cleaning the wiper blade, the nipples, the parking pad, etc. I'll do that again, maybe I missed a spot. I'm very wary about using the syringe in the nipple technique.There are times when I miss the darkroom, technologically much less to go wrong. But there's so many advantages to the digital darkroom I can't go back.

Speaking of technology, this forum is so much easier to navigate than those Yahoo! groups - even though that's where I learned so much in spite of the limitations.

Thanks for the compliment... it's interesting, when I have a show some of the prints are darkroom prints and sometimes I ask if viewers can tell which is darkroom and which is digital - and they can't tell!

My experience with wet darkroom and digital seems to be very similar.. and I can't go back too...

But I have to say I'm not that ambitious, just playing with DIY mixing and digital printing in general - other people around here are really experts...

PS: "ISF"was a personal short cut for Ink stained Fingers, not very clear I must admit..
