All of them! LOL
Just had to spout off guys!!

Well I finally made some room in my studio and set up my new PRO 9500 MKII. Total setup was super quick and went perfectly. Head and carts installed, all software and Head alignment plus nozzle check probably took no more than 20 mins.

Not having any 11x17 Canon paper I used a sheet of Epson Ultra Premium Gloss. Let the printer handle everything. Picked Canon Paper Plus Glossy II as my paper and high quality and just hit print and DAMN!!!! Result was a beautiful print with gorgeous natural color and contrast and undetectable gloss differential. Pretty much matched my calibrated 14 in LCD.

I can't wait to do a very subtle high key portrait image I have and see how it handles that type image. Then a bright saturated one.

All I can say is WOW!

3rd party inks had better match this quality or else it will be OEM inksfor this puppy. OUCH ($$$$)

I have a set from Mikling ( Image Specialists ) so we'll see how these compare.

At this level in your pursuit of excellence, you should consider profiling ink, paper and printer to get all you can from Mikling's inks. He can help you with the profiles, some of which many can be found here . All you'll need is the paper he used in making the profile plus the proper profile for your printer.

If you are a DIY kinda fella, you can purchase a Colormunki or spectrophotomer to make your own profiles. You can also try to eyeball it on your own with various software methods or purchase a profile. Some reading here . Mikling, granddad35 and a few others are well versed on DIY profiling.

Unless you find the quality of your properly profiled aftermarket ink and paper is insufficient, or, you are concerned about fade resistance, you probably will find Mikling's IS inks will look spectacular.

Don't forget to look into the enormous topic of color management. This is where the gold is to be found for serious results.

Congrats on your new girlfriend, umm, printer. I hope you have many happy years together. :love

I am still working on making profiles for the Pro 9500 and have not listed them anywhere yet.

My initial reaction with some test prints on the 9500 seems to indicate that the 9500 std profiles leans towards brightness and a bit of artistic license. When I delve deeper into it, I'll have a direct comparison between the Canon 9500 and the R2400. I suspect that I will like the 9500 for color BUT the Epson Advanced B&W driver has me spoiled for B&W printing.

Darn.

I do have and use Colormunki. just haven't had a chance to make any profiles yet. I am mostly printing on red river papers for which I have installed all the profiles for the PRO 9000 and 9500 MKII

This first initial test was just that, just a quickie mainly to see how this pigment printer would do on gloss paper. I was blown away with how good this very basic print turned out with simple settings.

Can't wait for my inks from presicioncolors.
Don't get me wrong, I do run a color managed system when printing with all my Epsons. I have only been using Canons for a couple of months so I have a lot more to learn about these family of printers.
I am printing through PS CS5 and the Canon Easy print pro plugin. I would rather use Qimage which is the tool I normally use for all my Epson printing. Have to learn how to use Qimage with Canon printers.
As far as my "Girlfriends" I am turning into a Printer polygamist. I really have to stop buying these things!
