Agreed, but because it is dye based, the visual result and fade resistant can be very paper dependent. Good file prep, inks, substrate and profiles are almost mandatory.

I am somewhat less familiar with the Epson 3880 but so far have found visual results less sensitive to varying media. Of course this is still preliminary, but so far have used substrates from canvas to metallic inkjet papers with outstanding results.

I'm not overly concerned about the fading issue, since I don't sell my images, if they fade, I'll just reprint them. BUT, I do believe in a good file prep, inks, substrate and profiles are definitely mandatory. This is a learning process to find out what works for me and I'm loving it.
