Error message Paper jam in out slot of Cano npixma iP6600D

Tried to print a scanned document: printer attempted to print and paper fed from auto feeder tray into printer askew: tried 3 times .
4th time it seemed that no paper fed in, but printer did a complete cycle.
No printed sheet came out of out slot and error message appeared on LED
This message came up after the printer did a cycle when it failed to take in a sheet of paper from the auto feeder.
I have opened every cover and inspected everything buit no paper jammed any where (that I can see)
Disconnected the printer from the electricityand later reconnected: no change
What to do ?

ANSWER to my previous post:
I've got it working !!!! I read somewhere to disconnect the power, open the top hatch and push sheet of card up thro' the out slot....... nothing appeared in the printing chamber. So I then pushed the card down thro the inslot and a piece of card 2 x 2 inches appeared in the printing chamber, beside the print head.So the error message was almost correct !!!! The printer now works, and it seems to be getting happier with every cycle. Time will tell.
