No where as good as your old MX922, but they are still pretty reasonable
If possible, please post a scanned image of a photo printed by your Maxify and then the same photo by one of your photo printers. Would like to see a head to head comparison.

Yes that would be an interesting comparison. Never paid much attention to resolution before but now Im starting to see why the old Canons were so good. I gather there are no high resolution all in one Canons with easy refilling without paying big bucks. So now Im getting greedy by wanting it all, at around the same old price. So now I hate to say it but Ive been looking at Epsons over the weekend because of their higher resolution.

I’ll see what I can do about getting two Pics printed and scanned, but it will take time, maybe someone else might be quicker.. I'll borrow one from the POW...

Don’t get hung up on the resolution thing, because at arm’s length they all look the Feckin same, and Epson printers have a set of their own little problems too... Be carful what you wish for... :barnie

Printed on Sihl Premium Glossy Paper on my iP4500 set to high and the same setting on the Maxify..

I’ll let the experts figure out which is which.. Answer later.. :hu

Img105 at the left is more sharp and saturated than img106 at the right, so I think the left image is printed with the iP4500 with dye inks and higher resolution the right image is printed with the Maxify with pigment inks and lower resolution.

My guess is the duller and grainier image 106 is the Maxify, unless the images have been manipulated to create a false impression.

The Maxify image looks pretty darned good, especially for my needs of printing articles, and web pages.

Thanks, @The Hat!

Maxifys have a distinct advantage for color printing in plain paper, because pigmented ink is water fast and dye ink it’s not.
For printing in photo paper they’re decent but no more. Even entry level Pixmas do better. Also, pigmented ink on glossy/lustre media without chroma optimizer can’t compete with dye inks.

I have to say though that my Maxify it’s vastly better for color jobs than my monochrome laser. :p

It’s not hard to tell them apart, (When examined) but I wanted the viewer to draw their own conclusions and make up their mind as to the quality of the Maxify print, yes, the iP4500 blows it away but that was not the purpose of this exercise... left Dye, Right Pigment..

There was no cheating, and both images got the same treatment in the scanner @300 DPI, with no colour enhancement whatsoever and saved to JPEG, had I took the time I could have put a coating of GO on the pigment print, but that would have taken till tomorrow for the print to dry first..

It has also got to be taken into consideration that my Maxify inks are not a great match, but they work for me and that’s what counts, in six months’ time the Maxify print will still be the same as it is now, but the iP4500 dye print will have faded considerably..

And as @Artur5 says.. it beats the hell out of his Mono laser for colour...

I may leave the two photos laying around and see how they both fare out being exposed to UV light... I might ever put a coating of GO on both prints tomorrow..

I agree the pic on the left 106 is probably from the Maxify.
I guess Im a little behind here on technology. The maxify is using Pigmented ink??? Didnt know it was available.. I thought only black was available in Pigmented. I guess Im showing Im not up to speed as u other guys. Is this pig ink available from Precision colors. I dont see it in their listings.
I guess now Im thinking of getting a Maxify first and seeing what I think of the quality and If I dont like it then I will get a bargain Pro 100 if the rebate deal ever comes back.
