Hi,
Paper jam problem still not solved yet. A little more help if you can, please.

You said in earlier mail that the paper jam problem never occurs on your XP600.

I wonder would you please tell me if you are using genuine Epson carts or Third party carts.

Any help would be appreciated, thank's.

I have been following your posts with interest but seen as I don’t have any Epson printers I couldn’t comment with any confidence as to what maybe causing your paper jam.

The way I see it is you can print on plain paper ok but it’s when you choose to print on photo paper that is when your problem arises, is that correct.

It could be that when you select high quality mode, the printer then inserts the paper just a bit and tries to re-adjust it's position to make sure it’s feeding straight and at this point as the paper is rolled backwards the end of the paper hits an obstruction and jams !

If that is what’s happening then could you try cleaning the centre rubber roller with alcohol or rejuvenator it may have paper dust ingrained into it and it now has loss of grip which can cause the paper to skew just enough to go out of alignment, I don’t know if this is helpful or not. :idunno

Hi,
Thank you so much for your support and input.
In answer to your Question the way you see it, I can print on plain paper ok to a point, the problem occurs if I change the printer preferences to any thing above Text and Image, as soon as I try to go above that I have the paper jam. This happens with all qualities of paper also the problem happens when I copy and change the settings to best paper jam.
This always happens when the paper is retracted (rolled backwards for what ever reason) if there is no pull back there is no problem.
The printer has just been reassembled after checking out PE sensor, no way of testing the sensor but visually all looks good as with the PW and other sensors.
I have to say that the PW sensor which is under the print head was flooded with ink, for some reason, this was cleaned up and reinstalled.
After the rebuild all went well until changing the qualities above text and image.

A test that I did was to pull the Duplex unit as soon as the paper started to reverse feed, still paper jam error even though there was none PLEASE see the Photos. One photo is the actual paper jam in the unit the other photo is Duplex pulled.

I also receive an ERROR (mea_2 error, mea_2 value =0) when running the Bi-D adjustment in the Epson adjustment program. I am unable to find what this error refers to/means. I also get the paper jam in various sections of the ADJ program.
Again many thank your for your in put.

PLEASE ALL keep your replies/input coming they are very much appreciated.

Russ.

Hi,
Thank you for the input.
I have just rebuilt the printer after a major strip down to check one of the sensors so sorry there is nothing in there.
I have also done a hard reset no change still the paper jam.
Again thank you for your thoughts.

Try put paper and lets its jam again, and looking carefully to sensor if you can maybe you can find where is the problem with your printer.

Hi,
I have done that please see photos in an earlier post where Duplex unit was pulled.
For a while now I have thought it might be a sensor, BUT the BIG problem is where to purchase the Epson replacement sensors.
I have searched the net World wide with no luck.
Again many thank's for your input.

Hi Russ,

Did you solved the problem with the paper jam error?
I think I have the same problem. I get the paper jam error message genever I try to print with photo quality. When I print regular text it goes OK. It happened yesterday for the first time so I did not have much time to investigate the problem further. I just googled and encountered this thread.

My printer is XP-750 and I use CISS with it. The printer is out of warranty, however it has been used only for a little over a year.

Hello,
I have an Epson XP-750 with CISS, more than 4000 pages printed, and the same problem... Any news?

Hi @TecnoSak and welcome, now if you’re getting the same paper jam error as @tommy79 is, then it’s more lightly to be a software issue rather than a hardware one.

Try uninstalling all of the print drivers associated with your printer and turn it off then reinstall the lot again and then try print something..
