Hi all
Not sure if this is user error, a limit of the printer i've got or a fault, but i've jsut purchased my xp-970 and when printing images (i print posters) that have lines that do not straight up or across the page, i seem to be getting jagged edges to shapes that should otherwise be smooth. attached some images for reference. I've tried print head alignment but couldn't see any major change. Hopefully you can see the issue in the attached mages. my previous printer did not have this issue.
Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum, inkygorilla.

Have you done a printer alignment? On Canon printers this can be either automatic or manual. If same on Epson, which did you chose? How were the results?

Does this happen with everything you print? Have you tried different paper types or settings?

Is this a new printer - just purchased ? Do you have a chance to get it exchanged ?

Could you please print a small pattern of boxes with vertical lines, rather thin and post it here. You did already the printhead alignment via the utility tab of the driver ?

There is a chance of a misaligned printhead which requires the use of maintenance software and cannot be corrected with the printhead alignment which does some horizontal shift but not an angular correction

N G = no good

These little images are copies from another maintenance manual, but can be found in about any maintenance manual since many years.

You should use your test print as evidence for the reason of return/exchange.
