Hello!

I had some issues reassembling the printer and now I can't test the printer, not even the scanner (it is an Epson XP-102) because at some point, when I flipped the whole printer upside-down, I heard something fall inside. Then I saw it was a small part, around 5mm x 5mm with a mirror on one side (it has a corner shape, the rest is plastic black).

I now get an error message and the scanner can't operate either because of busy printer message.

I searched it with AI chatbots, it turns out to be a reflector of the print head sensor mechanism, so, now that this reflector is removed the printer can't start any task because it can't find where the print head is.

I saw some youtube videos carefully, still can't find where is this little parts normal installation position.

If you have any clue it would be really helpful. Also if you happen to have the spare parts list-manual of XP-102, or any maintenance manual, so that I continue searching myself.

You can see the part's photos attached.

Thank you in advance!

You will find this in the service manual. Unfortunately I could not find a free one available for your model on the internet.

However, with the power of Ctrl-F on my side, I went through a few manuals of similar XP-000 printers, looking for "reflector" and was able to locate the part. It is called the "fault detection plate" and I attached a screenshot for you.

I properly reinstalled the item, but the error is still present; as soon as I turn the printer on the cartridge holder violently hits the right edge of its "runway" and both error lights are blinking. What is the easiest way to reset the errors? I tried pressing all 4 buttons at the same time with no result.

P.S.: There is a possibility I didn't reinstall the small wire at the back of the cartridge holder, where you have very difficult access (you can't see there), when I had attempted the scan head removal for cleaning.

Also, is there a way I can make a bypass "detour" of the printing part of the device, so that I can at least use it only as a scanner?

Thank you in advance.
