Thank you, thank you, thank you! The problem apparently was my damn Windows PC because I just downloaded it on my iPad I do not use a VPN but your comment got me to think about the possibility that Windows was blocking it for some reason.

It could be a browser related issue(calendar on archive.org breaks if an option to block sending referral headers partially/completely is set) or a plugin interfering with the site (e.g youtube blocking access when an ad-blocker is detected).

I did forget to mention Windows Defender and many other AV software will quarantine any password protected compressed file.
