the R2000 went over €150 up in retail price from ~460-480 EUR up to 620 EUR in germany and most of Europe also the delivery time and most of the stocks on most common retailers are depleted plus various rumors I heard both from Druckerchannel Forums and employees in Calumet Photography Stores in Hamburg.
What does it mean? OFF Curse..
after succesfully launching both replacements for the K3 Vivid Printer line in A3 and A2 paper size replacing the SPR3000 with the SC-P600 and the Sylus 3880 Pro with the SC-P800
now it seems to be that Epson will unleash a Gloss Optimizer Printer replacement for the R2000 as well.
First of I all I find the japanese naming very confusing R2400 is called PX-G5500 and the ink set they call it "PX innovation K3" nothing about "UltraChrome" as the trademark was introduced in the rest of the world next the R2880 with updated printhead (gold plating and teflon coating underneath the printhead) they call it PX-5600, also the R2880 introduced vivid magentas still the call their ink set "PX innovation K3" R3000 > PX-5V pretty much the same deal also the ink set is the same.
NOW.. the SureColor P-600 is called SC-PX5V Mark II and now the call the ink set "UltraChrome K3"
so the "glop" Series R800 is called PX-G900 it is LONG EOL (end of life) But behold the tiny miny A4 (letter size) GLOSS Printer AND ITS STILL PROCUDED and avialable in japan as third iteration PX-G930 it lost it "autocutter" ability thou which was included in the package.
R1800 called PX-G5100 R1900 is called PX-G5300 and has 8 Carts installed all the time introduced Orange instead of Red the R2000 is called PX-7V and this is REALLY weird...
It has THE SAME 8-channel printhead BUT Photo black, matte black or blue, cyan, magenta, yellow, red, orange, gloss optimizer you can choose to switch the blue cart for the matte black PLUS the japanese version of the R2000 utlizes BOTH Red and Orange ink ALL THE TIME....
It was released back in 2011 now if you followed so far we now know that Epson added a
"SC-" for the new models "SC-PX7 Mark II" seems to be the logical conclusion for a successor on the japanese market.
I would have loved the ability to do the same with chaning MatteK to Blue on the R2000 plus additional rest..
Does anyone have more insight?
cheers
