I only can report that I'm quite sucessful with the cleaning method with the syringe, and don't know what is laminated in the printhead - in the direct ink path.

I am just advising caution with the syringe. I've seen people get a tiny syringe and then really =push=. Patience is a virtue.

I was thinking of the layers in the printhead when I said laminations.

To be gentle and apply only a small pressure you choose a small syringe, right? Wrong!

Pressure equals force per area unit, so a given force produces larger pressure when applied to a small diameter syringe than when applied to a larger diameter syringe. This might seem counter-intuitive but is true. Compare the working of a hydraulic jack.

Exactly my point.

I remember watching Mr Wizard, and he had a large and a small syringe connected with some tubing and all filled with water.

Press as hard as he could on the large syringe, he could not stop his assistant, a small boy, from pushing the small syringe in.
