I sold mine Epson R2000 and went back to the Epson Stylus Photo 1500W/Artisan 1430 printer, because it is much more reliable in terms of clogging.
Because I wanted to use the Fujitsu DL ink and having no light colors, I tried to experiment with the dark colors and I found a surprisingly good clear ink formula to dilute the dark inks into the light inks and by chance it is so good, I did not need to make profiles using the standard Epson printer profiles.
This is the formula for the clear ink base:
5% propylene glycol
30% ethanol 96% denaturated
15% isopropyl alcohol
50% destilled water
All by weight. It produces sharp lines and dries quickly without causing crawling or ink puddles.
For making the light colors: 30 volume parts of the dark ink + 70 parts of the clear ink base.
My first tests on matte and glossy paper are really good with the canned printer profiles and very neutral B&W.
