Epson R220 strange nozzle check - Need opinions and possible causes

Thanks I will check that out. I am a bit wary of running that software as it must reflash the printers eprom and a wrong code given to the printer could make it worthless. I might ask the local Epson agency a tongue in cheek question without a reason.
My printer is the multy function type which scans photo's, film or negatives. No fax though.

I have a Epson R230 printer, the printer head is clgged with a very bad clog, I have taken the printer apart to remove the printer head, that done and 5 out of 6 heads are now cleaned, but the lat head I can not remove the clog. How can I remove the spiggit and reveal the tiny screen in there? I'm soaking the printer head in ISO alcohol now, hoping that this will Dissolved the dired ink in there. Dose anyone know how to remove the spigets without damaging them?
