About testing longevity of pigment inks: I am pretty sure the pigments will hold much longer than any dye ink, including the superior Claria Photographic inks made by Epson, which supposedly should last for many decades. I have done some testing with both dye (Colorgraph, Inktec) and pigment inks (Image Specialists, Inkrepublic) and already can say after almost one year facing a sunny windows the dye inks faded horribly: the pigment ink prints are still very vivid without the slightest colour shift and fading. In a few months time I will upload some test images scanned after they have radiated by sun light for more than a year.

Yes, I expect that the pigment inks will be pretty stable - much more so than the dyes. What I will try to do is to measure colour shifts objectively which may show up some differences between OEM and 3rd-party inks in a shoter time than purely visual (subjective) observations. Time will tell, and I will keep the group posted.

pharmacist, indeed ,it's a very good review about inkrepublic 3800 cis and IRK4-nano ink set. I actually got wider gamut than yours. Mime is 68,XXX, close to 69K. I am very satisified with this pure pigment inkset, IRK4-nano, that can reach more than 68K in gamut space. I have InkRepublic 3800 CIS refillable cart system and IRK4-nano 500ml ink from last year. It's a great unit!
I LOVE MY CIS system! It's my 3rd time of reordering inks! If you are going to do a lot of prints, do yourself a favor and purchase a CIS, 3800 i-Refill, system for your printer. You can enjoy epson's quality and it's cheap for the ink. The installation is very easy and you will save a bundle.

A trick for everyone, keep your original OEM cartridges with you, dont trash them. with inkrepublic's system, I could reset my 3800 waste ink tank every time when it gest full. There was only one instance that I couldnt, they suggested me to put the used OEM cartridges back to replace the two iRefill carts which have control chips from inkrepublic, once I did that, and put back iRefill carts again, run the resetting procedure, my waste ink tannk became empty! Nice!
