Epson ET-8550 Firmware Update

I just received a firmware update for my ET-8550 (USA). I couldn't find a changelog so I don't know what was done.

Epson does not publish much information at all about their updates; there is a button on the maintenance tab which starts the Epson software updater, you can deactivate any automatic updates by changing the update settings in this program.

The Software Update button on the maintenance tab of the driver calls up the Epson software updater which you can start as well directly as a separate program, and the software updater allows you to select an inspection period for software and firmware changes, and you can disable this automatic check alltogether.

Ah ha, I see. I was using the LCD panel on the printer.

So there are even several ways to initiate a firmware update, but one issue remains - Epson does not publish a change log together with an update
