Epson compatibles & refillables will soon be no more in the USA!

I am a newbie, and the above messages seem to tell me exactly what I didn't want to hear. What I garner is that anyone who owns a recent model Epson will NOT be able to use remanufactured cartridges. I came here looking for a quality source of remanufactured cartridges that would not render my Epson unuseable, just reasonable to operate. If I understood right, the new Epson firmware will recognise a remanufactured cart and ask if you insist on using it. I'm not sure what happens if you do use it, but I never expected this kind of complexity regarding this issue.

I have a Epson Stylus CX7000F all-In-One. I wasn't so unhappy with the day to day ink use as I was with the head clogging and the ink use involved in cleaning the clog. Frequently it took 4 cleanings to get the nozzles clean. At the end of 4 cleanings, 1/4 of my ink was gone!!! That means one whole cartridge worth of ink, or about $15 worth of ink! I'm just not going to pay that any more. Fortunately, right after I bought this printer, the class-action suite against Epson was settled and I was sent 5 $45 credits for their online store, so I used all my credits on keeping this printer in ink. Is that insane or what? So now I am not going to spend $$ out of my own pocket to line Epson's. Please tell me that someone still sells a remanufactured version of the carts for my Stylus CX7000F.

Interesting... At a guess the resellers are looking even deeper into the small print and deciding if the loopholes are big enough to keep things going.
