(chip on each cartridge) Wait till your printer calculates that the cartridge is ready to be replaced, at that time you see a warning on the printer's lcd. Ignore operating system low ink messages. Make a note of which color it is, just for your own information. Turn printer off, wait a few seconds and then turn the power back on. This will reset just the cartridge that needs to be replaced. You cannot force a reset. Cheers LJH
