@Reza This is a bit late but a couple of weeks ago I salvaged a Canon MG5550, which is the same printer as yours but intended for use in Europe instead of Africa/Middle East/Russia. After installing a set of compatible cartridges and a little cleaning the printer now works OK.

I really would like to get it into service mode to check its history and the extended nozzle check print. But I cannot get the printer to enter service mode using the methods that work for printers of the PGIx20/CLIx21 and PGIx25/CLIx26 cartridge generations. I guess nobody has figured out how to get the printer into service mode, that is why you got no answers. I would also like to know how to get those newer printers to enter service mode.

@PeterBJ, it would seem that Canon have been more aggressive that we last taught, they are actively preventing all new owners well most, from using this built in Service Mode anymore, it’s not just me that's been effected .. :(

I have seen some guesses about service mode on newer Canon printers. One is that a service tool with a much higher version number than 3600 is needed, another is that service mode operations can only be performed from a computer connected to a Canon server. Does anybody know more? @Łukasz ?

It would help if we knew exactly which and how many of these newer models are effected by the service mode blockade .. :idunno
