Are you fed up with either having to buy expensive replacement cartridges or hours researching ways to refill cartridges and over-ride the increasingly sophisticated systems that the manufacturers fit to their printers? It is completely unnecessary as manufacturers could so easily fit a continuous ink system which could quickly and cheaply be filled with ink from a bottle. I don't believe the customer should put up with this any longer and so I've started a 10 Downing Street petition asking that legislation is introduced in the UK to prevent manufacturers from continuing this practice. If you'd like to be able to buy printers that can be easily and cheaply filled with ink then go to

http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/cartridges/

and sign the petition. It takes about 30 seconds. If you are not from the UK why not start a petition where you live?

Good for you!!!

First time in my life I wished I was a British citizen or resident.

I would sign your petition.

Best of luck.

The answer to "why not" is because it is against freedom. If you think people ought to be able to buy the printers you desire, then why not start your own company and sell them to us?

This discussion came up a couple years ago when Canon first put chips in their cartridges. See this link:
