Commercial unclogging solution

I've tried a lot of the homemade solutions for unclogging printheads but haven't been successfull. There's also commercially available cleaners. My question, is any of these better than the popular DIY unclogging mixtures? Like Windex, ammonia, alcohol, distilled water etc.

The cleaning cartridges from the national ink emporium were no success. I've installed 5 of these in my MP610 and deep cleaned until all cartridges were empty, no result however. Well my printer has been smelling like cleaning fluid for the past year, I guess the waste ink pads are full of cleaning fluid lol.

You don't know if your problem is a print head clog. You have tried multiple methods/solutions and failed to resolve your problem. This means either the solutions do not work on your clog, your technique is poor, or there is no clog to begin with. That is all you can say at this point.

There has not been a head to head study of print head solutions AFAIK, which would be difficult to control for consistency in the location, quantity and quality of the test clog. That said, there is no proof that retail print head cleaning solutions are any better than concoctions found in this forum. Of the retail solutions tried by forum members, none appear to have performed better than homemade solutions. Otherwise, the forum would readily suggest using them.

If you do try these solutions please report back. Just make sure it is a clog that is your problem in the first place before reporting.

Sulfuric Acid will definitely give your printhead a well deserved rest. If that fails, I guess its Plutonium time...

Seriously, sometimes you have to let go. The fact that you've run entire cleaning cartridges through your printhead means that there is no serious blockage and Stratman was right -- it's an electrical problem.

If I remember correctly, your nozzle check pattern is not that bad especially if you don't print photos. If you do, consider buying a new printhead.
