I know, we just gotta "play the game".

Thanks for the push, will resume the printer later on this evening :)

My goodness, never want to have to do that again. Upon plugging in Printer I got the dialog "It appears you disconnected the Power Cable…"

And then it proceeded to teach me a lesson. That was the worst purge ever! Took about 3 minutes, I just wanted at to stop. Running and running, blast blast, click, running and running, blast blast, click.

If the printer wasn't "leaking before" it probably is now. Luckily a Print Nozzle check came out clear, but what a purge that was! Already a cart is showing near empty.

Have you tried the print driver's bottom plate cleaning and roller cleaning functions? Are the papers flat or slightly curled as it appears the black is close to the trailing end of the paper. Have you tried the custom settings paper abrasion (I believe this opens the platen gap a bit)?

Hi, good idea re: bottom plate and roller cleaning. I read that suggestion along with the Paper Abrasion setting on Canon's forum, from a customer mind you. And I did use that setting which did work. However, as was stated on there it is only a temporary fix. The fact it is meant for thicker paper and the paper I am using at the moment is actually very thin (174 g/m2?) (Ilford Photo-Real Silk) and it is very flat, not curled at all.
The problem with the Paper Abrasion setting is it is very slow (it even warns you about that… every single time you go to print).
Haven't used the printer much since cleaning it. Just got a new Nikon D5500 DSLR Camera and even though it is brand new it has problems.
My luck recently is just not working out.
