No need for windex or any special chemicals. Hot water and time is all you need for dyes. Only try windex for the alcohol content and only if the hot water doesn't work.

Well, I soaked my ink head overnight in hot water and windex mix and one of the heads remains clogged. I guess I am goinmg to have to replace my photo printer !960. I am looking at the IP6700D Canon Photo Printer. Thanks for all the help with recommendations on how to clean my printer head. Debbie

You probably know this already, but let me mention it again, just in case:

If you made an EEPROM print, you can see how many pages you have printed until now at PAGE (ALL:). Sometimes you have to add other info like UCPAGE (All:).
There you also can see how many pages you've printed on plain paper (PP:) and other types of paper (HR, MP, PR,...).

If you mainly printed on PP you should consider not to buy a Canon photo printer again, since they are worse on PP than all-around printers like the iP4300. (Worse text quality, photo inks are not used, see this thread)
