This kind of information is kind of what I am after. You know, that stuff you never hear about untill you do something and are then learning the hard lessons everyone else already learned and tips to make things easier. I greatly appreciate it. Im also glad that the Epson 810 is a great printer then I know I am already starting with something nice.

Then I will add to my experience of the Artisan for you.

I have 3 printers and 2 scanners in my small home office, one black laserjet, one colour laserjet and added the Artisan 800 last December. To print on plain paper, the laserjet does the best job in colour and black and white. My purchase of an inkjet was an impulse as I wanted to print directly to DVD surface.

The original plan was to use the Artisan solely for DVD printing, and the Artisan tray is perfect! The colour laserjet did the best job of printing my DVD covers using plain paper as well as my sales presentations. I tried the inkjet but the colour looked washed (on plain paper). Then I installed my CISS and tried 8 1/2" x 11" photo paper as our local Staples had a deal. I purchased the first case of 100 and what a difference, now my covers look better than the originals - colour is deep, rich and completely blows away the colour laserjet. I am also printing photos for the first time in years!

We no longer use our 2 other scanners, or the laserjet printers except for envelopes. I have ordered the second Artisan (the 810) so I can use this one (800) at my other office. I will run the original cartridges through, and I am already looking for an empty CISS system. My orginal seller on Ebay does not sell them empty, so I must locate another.

The ink I plan to use will be from Mikling, the quality is highly regarded here, and he frequently helps people on this forum without pushing his own wares. I respect that.

Sorry to ramble a bit. I'm done.
