Hi, further on from my message about black ink in my 2 new IP4600, I have now installed 2 new CIS's in the machines (I have previous experience of CIS)

I'm getting service error 6502 as a message from both.

After reading the forums further I have found out that these new printers use new chip technology. I want to throw myself out of a window!!

Is there anything anyone can help me on to get the chip-transferred CIS's to work?

thanks is advance!

Let us know if you're having problems, because on the 4300 +4500 it was a waste of time to even try.

At the moment I have had no problems with it.

However now one of the cartridges in one of the printers has drawn too much air into its tank. How do I go about pre-priming the cartridge to get the air out?

A picture of the CIS I have is below:

It has stopper and a air filter on each main tank, on the cartridge itself the only entry to the cartridge seems to be the tube going into it and the cartridge-printhead hole.

It does have a roller to stop ink flowing between the main tanks and the cartridges.

I've printed around 200 full page colour prints before I had this problem.

Any thoughts? I don't mind pre-priming a few cartridges every 200 pages or so if its easy. Its still the cheapest way to print!

It was bought from the UK company: www.colourghost.com/
