I have an Artisan 800 and am trying to decide what to do about ink. I was leaning towards a refillable cartridge set, but I am now thinking more along the lines of cis. It is less messy and with an automatic resetting chip set, less attention needs to be payed to ink status. Using a link from this thread, I have looked at Ink Products.
I am left a bit confused after going through the site. Much is not explained. Perhaps someone with appropriate experience and help me understand. They tout a "piggy back" system as a good thing. Does anyone know what this actually entails and what the advantages/disadvantages are? Do they supply new cartridges or just reuse the original Epsons?
Are the cartridges in their cis a good refillable one as a starting point. Clear to see the level, no foam, better filter screen, other advantages/disadvantages?
Someone above liked their ink. Any other experience reports?
Anyone with experience with the cis product and has some feedback?
They specify that they will provide a link to software for resetting the pad full condition if you buy their pad drain kit (which looks rather primitive). Does anyone know if this software is valid and works on the Artisan 800? I get the feeling from other boards and posts, that no one actually has this software. There are a couple of prospects posted; but none actually reported as tested and functional.
As a side note, Epson claims it has no maintenance resetting software available. Dealing with Epson for the simple task of registering the printer is another long horror story that is not relevant to this thread.
