Thought I'd pop this up for a little feedback as I've realised I've reached a sort of critical mass with all the bits and bobs I've been buying of late.

Just recently I finally bit the bullet and bought in a load of luer type syringes, tubing clamps and took stock of the large number of barbed elbow, straight through and other fittings that sit in a large tool organiser.

It's occured to me that I can't be the only one who's been looking to purchase small amounts of this sort of thing but found the minimum X hundred parts order side of things very off-putting especially when you add in P&P. So, as a little experiment I'm going to be putting an ebay shop up in the next few days with a selection of CIS related parts.

Granted I suppose this is a bit like advertising but I suspect a few of you will be biting my arm off to get things you've always wanted. Question is, does anyone else see there being at least a small amount of demand for this sort of thing?

On another note I'm looking for a new supplier for ribbon tubing as my original supplier stopped ordering it in over a year ago and my supply is running very short. If anyone has come across anything like this with inner diameters (ID) of around 1.5mm and outer diameter (OD) of no more than 2.5mm that would be really useful. Use of Tygon tubing in this way would be a massive boon as I really like working with the stuff :).

Lastly, I also need some thin blunt luer fitting needles for things like purging HP10/11/88 cartridges but so far I've been unlucky in finding anything other than short, wide ID stuff (that cost 40 to find out the hard way!). Any suggestions?

Anyways, feedback welcome... Here goes nothing :)

Websnail,

I don't have a CIS, but I think your idea is a good one.

I think it would be good also for refilling supplies: screws with "O" rings, tubing, etc...

Sorry more haven't replied yet... maybe more still will.

Best wishes,

Jill

I hadn't really thought about refillers but I suppose as I have syringes and blunt-end needles it makes sense there too..

Well as most folks are in the USA on here I'm not overly surprised... Anyways, it's all up under "snailsource" as the seller if anyone is interested (ebay.co.uk only mind) :)

Right, last time I'm going to mention this unless someone specifically asks...

I've decided to give this a proper go now and opened an eBay shop here:
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/SnailSource

Humour will be a requirement and hopefully I'll get the hang of this insane interface that eBay seem convinced makes sense but leaves my mind reeling... Weirdo's the lot of 'em. ;)

Erk... did I say last time I'd mention this?

I lied... well-ish... After finding that ebay pushes the costs skyward and maked it difficult for anyone to create a kit of the bits they really want.... I opted to put my own little online shop for the elucidation of any who wish to play with CIS kits themselves but don't fancy forking out $200 for a minimum of 500 parts when they only wanted 4 of them.. Sound familiar?

Anyways, OctoInkjet.co.uk is now open for business complete with:
- syringes (tried looking for those in the UK? it's nigh on impossible!)
- blunt and sharp needles
- various: straight, reducing, barbed, Y, threaded, elbow, etc... fittings for tubing
- ARC chips (coming soon) for the HP88 style printers (with instructions on how they reset - how useful!)
- even a few CIS kits (but mainly for school environments)
- waste ink bags (for Epsons)
- plastic rivets (just don't ask!)

- ....and a partridge in a pear tree... (No? ok no we don't have one of those... yet!)

So, there you go... spam? advertising? erm... yeah I suppose it could be... but dammit, I just want someone to tell me it looks good after all the blinking work I put into the blasted site.. *sob* ;)

Just wanted to let folks know that following a rather unpleasant realisation I've had to pull all my tubing parts, tubing and some other bits from my site.

There's a bunch of reasons involved, mostly to do with the time it takes to pick all the bits, pack everything up and the storage space all those bits take up... The real crunch point came though, when a "customer" started asking for parts suppliers that pretty much matched my own waste kit components. It was then that I realised I'd been a tad too naive in thinking only genuine enthusiasts would want the bits.

So, the stuff's no longer available.. If anyone is stuck and needs a specific bit or three, I'll do what I can to help but from here on out, I'm focusing on the waste kits and inks/refilling side of things.

Needless to say this doesn't affect the core stuff on OctoInkjet, but I know a few of you have used the store of parts as a means to play and experiment so I figured I'd best avoid disappointment now.
