Here’s the latest Christmas specials on Epson EcoTank printers down my way.

I suppose if you just want to print out stuff, copy and scan then they seem like a good investment, especially with all that extra ink ..

How does the ECOTANK line handle waste ink? Is this via a "potty", or is the diaper easily changed, and waste counters easily reset by the consumer? Epson's produce a LOT of waste ink!

If this isn't part and parcel of that printer line, EPSON has just increased it's service center business while keeping ink costs reasonable...

the waste ink is handled the same way as in the base model , e.g. my L300 is technically based on a WF-2010W with the Epson CISS added, or the L800 is technically very close to the P50. There is a box in the bottom of the printer, held in place with one screw on the back. The foam can easily be replaced by kitchen paper or similar. Since there are no cartridges to replace all those related cleaning cycles are gone, and the waste ink counter moves up much slower. Other automatic cleaning cycles are triggered after heavy print jobs. But you are right - Epson does not let the user reset the counter on his own - or just with a 10$ charge via WicReset.....so Epson keeps some activity and income flowing for their service contractors.....The ET.... models are 2nd generation CISS models, with some handling improvement with the ink containers vs. the L... models but there is otherwise no change

The EcoTank printers are supposed to waste far less ink then the conventional printer does, because they don’t have cartridges, or something like that... :hu

I am not very clued in on Epson printers’ toilet functions at all...
