Cartridge Test Equipment

Hello,

I am looking for a cartridge tester for the empty cartridges that I buy. Can anybody recommend a good cartridge test equipment ?


I usually purchase and remanufacture catridges at about 30-40 cartridges a month, usally HP. I do thourough inspection for burns and cuts. However, performance of cartridges varies even with best practice and standard refill process. Sometimes cartridge does not function normally, or not at all.

I came across CBR's Shop Tester 100. It seems that it test everything from electronically testing the circuit of the nozzels, to testing the temperature sensor resistance. http://www.cbr-e.com/?menu=products&sub=testing

Can you give me pointers on how to evaluate test equipment ? Do you know of any other test equipment I could check out ?

SME CBR Shop Tester 100 is the best testing equipment we know. It test electrically and print test showing all nozzles. Our customers love it when they receive a test print indicating the quality of our system. We include the test print strip with every cartridge we refill.

The best cartridge testing equipment that I have used so far is st-200 (see http://www.stsrefill.com/category_s/92.htm). The quality is very good and the nozzle check test pattern confirms print head function which I liked

The ST 200 is a seriously expensive boat anchor.

30-40 cartridges a month wouldn't pay for these types of advanced tesing equipment. You're better served by having a bank of actual printers, it'll cost less for the type of testing you're doing. Now maybe 300-400 cartridges a month it might make sense, but even then a bank of printers probably would save as much money. These testers are used by the big time remanufacturers that do several thousand a month.

I work at a popular refill shop in Australia and we still use a shelf full of printers, you'll never keep up to date with new cartridges because a test machine will be outdated in 6 months.

Can any body suggest me minimum which printers I should have for HP, lexmark & epson type of inkjet.
