Canon's Loyalty Program - no charge print head arrived yesterday !

my MP830 print head died after 20,000 pages(70% waste pad usage). sent some email off to Canon to explain the situation, told them i have had several canon printers over the years and to find out the best procedure for ordering a new one through them. received the following

>> customer and appreciate the opportunity to assist you. We regret
>> that the MP830 print head needs replacing.

>> You are eligible for Canon's Loyalty Program.

>> Giving that you are a long time Canon customer we will be happy to

no charge print head arrived yesterday, way to go Canon !!!

So what's the email address?

Had you registered one or more of your printers with Canon years ago or did they just take your word for it?

Had you heard of the Canon Loyalty Program prior to this?

I particularly like their statement - "If this offer is acceptable to you please reply back". That was really great customer service!

Canon probably thought the 20K pages printed used their OEM ink. That means a lot more to them than a printhead. ;-)

first sent my 2 line email to canon's support email, got back suggestions to do nozzle checks, deep cleaning, etc

so i then pasted the same email text using the customer support form at
https://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=SupportMailerAct&fcategoryid=257&modelid=15596

got back the "customer loyalty pgm" info and the freebie print head. i then had to provide the serial #, where/when it was purchased, etc. then got the confirmation of the 2 day express shipment. do not remember registering any of my printers with Canon.

nor did it mention that the 20,000 pages was printed by refilling 3 PGI-5's and the orig 4 CLI8's approx 125 times over the past 2.5 years.....

A testament to the quality construction and longevity of Canon OEM cartridges.

Like Porsche... accept no substitute.

Canon probably thought the 20K pages printed used their OEM ink. That means a lot more to them than a printhead. ;-)

And try to do that with Epson. I think their first question for you is:" Do you use oem cart?"
