my MP830 print head died after 20,000 pages(70% waste pad usage). sent some email off to Canon to explain the situation, told them i have had several canon printers over the years and to find out the best procedure for ordering a new one through them. received the following

>> customer and appreciate the opportunity to assist you. We regret
>> that the MP830 print head needs replacing.
>>
>> You are eligible for Canon's Loyalty Program.
>>
>> Giving that you are a long time Canon customer we will be happy to
>> replace the print head for you free of charge as a one time gesture
>> of goodwill. If this offer is acceptable to you please reply back
no charge print head arrived yesterday, way to go Canon !!!
