Although it's not an inkjet printer, I hope someone can help me out.

I recently came across my Canon Selphy CP400 printer and hooked it up to my Windows 7 PC. The PC doesn't recognize the device as a printer. I've been looking on the net for a Win7 driver but with no success.

If anyone can help me with a pointer to a driver or some sort of trick to get the CP400 working with Win7 I would really appreciate it.

Thank you.

It looks like the newest driver available is for Windows Vista. You could try this driver, possibly installing it in compatibility mode for Windows Vista. I guess the install procedure is the same as for other Canon printer drivers: The printer must not be connected to the computer before you are told to do so by the install program. Link to Canon USA support site, where I found the Vista driver: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/suppo..._photo_series/selphy_cp400#DriversAndSoftware .

According to this list Many Canon printers are not officially supported by newer Windows versions, but I have a Canon i965 and Pixmas 4000, 4200, 5200, and 6600D working under Windows 8.1 without problems, even if they should not be able to, according to the compatibility list: http://www.canon-europe.com/images/Win_PIXMA_Full_tcm13-1073647.pdf

Thank you Peter. I don't understand how I could have missed that link.

I will try tonight whether it works.
