Replaced compatible gray cartridge in my canon pro-10 and am getting 15 blinks on the alarm. All cartridges are lit. When I try to print get message tha a cartridge is not recognized. Figured it would be the last one replaced so tried another new gray one but same thing. Have tried rebooting, cleaning contacts, etc but no luck. All cartridges are new and things were working fine until the last one was replaced. Any ideas out there?

Turn off, unplug and give the contacts really good clean (Q tip and alcohol) and try an original cart. I don't go near compatibles and re-fill the originals.

@Dave Marshall, Explain To us your current set up, All OEM carts, but one, or a mixture of OEM and compatibles, and are your replacing the suspect cart with another compatible, or OEM cart, lastly have you by any chance upgraded your printer firmware lately.

P.S. just a side note:- The Pro 10 should never be used with non OEM carts...

Do you mean the physical carts (having a bag) or the chips ?
The printer can only give an error based on the chips.

Agree compatibles without a bag are a big mess on these printers.

Sooner or later I will move from the 9500(II) to the PRO-10.

I’m staying with my 9500’s for a long as I can, if not forever, I got two spare heads in reserve... :hugs

I have one, plus a printer in storage with a good but not new printhead.
Printer is use has printhead changed about 1,5 year ago.
Although that gives me plenty of time (and maybe longer than I will live myself) I do not like it.
I now save the 9500 II for photos and use a 9500 with an old printhead (missing some colours) for B&W A3.

Checked last week about the ink compatibility.
PBK and GY are the same, Y,C,PC almost and MBK doesn't matter.
That's 6 of the 10 inks that I can continue to use just in case.

Missed a second hand PRO-10 for €150 recently.

@The Hat and I were just talking about Heaven and Hell. According to him, the booze you drink determines where you'll end up. Since Belgium has some lovely alcoholic beverages then I think you are going to the good place. Until then, you're sticking around and that's that!
