What is the weight of an empty Pro 1 PGI-29 cartridge? I fear I am throwing away cartridges with much ink in them!

Why worry about the carts weight, just use a syringe with an adapter on it and suck the remaining ink out and keep it in a spare bottle till you wish to use it..

And yes your right, there is between 10 to 15 ml of ink left when the cart is declared empty, but you don’t pay for the remaining ink because its put in as extra because you can’t use it..

The weight of a full cart is 84 gm. and the empty weighs in at 43.2 gm, plus or minus .4 gm..

Thank you Hatter
I've done quite a bit of printing but I'm not very technical.
For months I've been able to print using my Canon Pro 1 (with the ink tanks "insufficient to do a cleaning operation") by pressing the Resume button.
Can I run a tank down to (say) 44g or will it stop delivering before that?
Should I make a separate post about how to extract the ink by syringe?!

It’s very possible to run a cleaning cycle by pressing the Resume button for 5 seconds, but to what end, you still have to replace the cart in the long run..

Once you disable the ink monitoring you get no further warnings from the printer and then you’re on your own, ask yourself if it’s worth risking the print head to use 4 ml of ink.. !
