More and more guys are on this forum asking this question, where do I get a CISS for my Canon printer xxx.
What they should be asking is, Do I really need a CISS on my printer.
Now unless you are printing 500 sheets or more a week then the answer is simply No.
Refilling the original Canon cartridges and resetting them is as productive as a CISS, more controllable, more enjoyable, much more reliable, and probably much cheaper than a CISS.
If you really want to use a reliable CISS unit then Epson printers are the way to go.
First off youll need two sets of OEM cartridges and a resetter.
Next thing to do is to find a good source of quality ink, the closer to where you live the better.
If you read from irv weiner's thread below, he lists quite a few ...
These are some of the vendors that are most recommended:
rjettek.com OCP ink cartridge plugs and much more
inkjetcarts.com ink,carts,chips and more
octoink.co.uk/ ink,carts,chips and more
Hobbicolors ink,carts,chips and more
Precision Colors inks http://home.eol.ca/~mikling/
Cone Inks color & B&W inks conecolor.com inkjetmall.com
Next thing youll have to decide is which method of refilling to use, Top filling (Original method) or the new German Duchstich method.
There are dozens of videos on YOU TUBE on top filling your cartridges, but theres a good thread on the German method here compliments of Pharmacist ...

Now you'll have to decide which refilling method is more suited to your own needs, I recommend you Try both then decide.
Next thing is a set of syringes or SquEasy bottles for putting the ink into your cartridges, again which ever method is best for you.
All of the above items needed for refilling can be purchased on most of the sites mentioned earlier (above), well nearly all (shop around).
Its not cheap for starter kits for refilling, but its much cheaper than buying new cartridges every time you or your children want to print something.
Finally Canon printer inks are the best that money can buy no question, so if you think you can buy very cheap ink and get the same quality, Forget it.
Compatible cartridges and cheap ink do work for a while, and if thats for you well and good enjoy it, but youll not be getting the best out of your printer.
I mentioned CISS at the start of this thread, well Epson are king when it comes to CISS, again no question.
Canon printers will work with a CISS, some better than others but its not a match made in heaven.
I have CISS working successfully on several different Canon printers, (5 at first now only 2) but when they (balls up) and they do, I've then quickly switched back to using OEM refilled cartridges and found them much easier to use.
All of the above are my experiences and opinions and I do hope this advice helps and not offends individuals to choose wisely which is best for them CISS, Compatibles or OEM cartridges.
Theres no reason why everyone cant save loads of money and print with the best quality available second to one (Canon). Happy printing..
