Canon Pixma560 using Armor replacement cartridges

What I would like to know is , is there an equivqlent "Resume" button on the Pixma MP560, if so, where is it?

It should be the "OK" button to resume after out of paper or paper jams, etc. To get into service mode operations, should be the "On/Off" and
the "Stop/Reset" buttons.

The error code 5100 seems to indicate a mechanical problem. When the foam caught on the printer casing, did the printer make some unusual noises, like grinding or banging noises? I think that the foam should not be able to block the printhead movement but who knows ?

I guess you have already tried to turn the printer off and then back on to see if that clears the error?

Did pressing the "OK" button clear the error?

On the Pixma's 4000, 4200 and 5200 the resume button has two symbols next to it. One is a circle with a triangle inside it, the other looks like a drawing of a piece of paper with an arrow pointing downward inside it. Has the "OK" button got any of these symbols close to it ?

This post by mrelmo suggests it could also be a cartridge problem. The post is about a Pixma MP 530, I don't know if it is similar to the MP 560 ?

my mp530 prints 1 page than throws a 5100 error code, canon site says clear paper jam, reset cartridges or turn power off than on, if these steps don't work it needs to be taken to a service tech, well the printer was a refurb from newegg and only in service for 5 months but being a refub i don't think there is any warranty left any ideas on what might be wrong, it is connected to a mac laptop

So maybe the Armor cartridge is not seated properly, so the chip does not make contact. Even if it is more expensive you could try replacing the Armor cartridge with a Canon OEM, and hope the printer will be OK again.

The procedure given by TheHat seems to be for resetting a "printer only" Pixma, not for a multifunction machine. The procedure would clear some data stored in an EEPROM chip. I think the procedure is different for the MP series ? I wouldn't try that without having studied the service manual.

If the printer is still under warranty, you may bring it in for repair, but with only Canon OEM cartridges in it. The warranty may be void if the problem is caused by non OEM cartridges. Hopefully the chip on the Armor cartridge has been detected as a Canon OEM chip, so the printer has not stored any information on using a non-OEM cartridge.

I hope that that the turning off and back on or pressing the OK button or fitting an OEM cartridge cures your printer. so it will not be necessary to have it serviced.

I have a canon iP6700D printer. When I tried to open the door to check on the ink level of my cartridges it made a severe grinding noise then stopped and the error light flashed and it said error 5100. I tried unplugging everything, letting it rest, and replugging it in but when I turn it on it makes the same noise after it starts up. I think the cartridge carriage is stuck?? I refill my own cartridges. does anyone know if I can fix this?
