Getting Fingers Dirty
The printhead cartridges for both the above printers are the same. I went to a site that deals with CIS systems for Canon. I watched the installation of the heads and did the same to my MP250. When I set the printer to print a test page, it returned an error saying the cartridges are not installed correctly. Error was 50 ?? So I removed the heads and installed a regular cartridge and everything is OK. Now what? I did notice that on the color cartridge bay, on the lid, is a white plastic piece that is spring loaded. When you close the lid, it presses the top of the cartridge, I guess to make positive contact with the printer's contact strip. Maybe with the four hoses coming out of the color print head section, somehow contact is being broken.
