With my ip4500 "line printer" I have certainly tried to keep the contacts clean, both on the PH and in the carrier...but I will clean it once again..

Like I said it was just a wild random thought but could there be a short that has developed behind the board, due to moisture, salts that were in the water, etc... Anyones guess but I suspect the only way to be sure would be to do a tear down which would be a lot like killing the patient to find the problem...push...

@Petergum if this problem is still there even after changing the magenta cartridge then it’s possible that there is a crack between the ceramic plate and the nozzles, which obviously can’t be fixed either.
Have you tried the print head from the other printer in your current one to see if you can get a good print out from that, it’s worth a try..
