I haven't tried it, but I can't imagine that Canon would make them backwards compatible... So, educated guess would be no.danno78 said:The new Canon cartridge PGI-525, CLI-526 (from new printer iP4850, Pixma MG5150, Pixma MG6150) will work with a older printer iP4600/4700 MP640 (cartridge type: PGI-520 CLI-521) and vice versa?
Thanks, Daniel
Have you considered buying a new printhead rather than trying to get a new printer? In the long run it's going to be a better option, assuming your first printhead hasn't blown the printer though.danno78 said:I asked because I have a iP4600 which no longer print wright so I need a new printer with CD printing. I also have a resetter for CLI-521. In these days is hard to get a iP4700.
Almost certainly not going to be possible unfortunately. Canon will have released this new model in large part to make the resetter and cartridges obsolete, forcing you to buy their own cartridges. Of that I feel 100% confident...The new printers (iP4850) are easy to find but there is no resetter for them. I wonder if take a new printer can I use my old charts and the resetter?
