I've been using non-Canon products for over a year now in my PIXMA i-3000 with no problems. I use all BCI-3 types for black, cyan, magenta, yellow. I usually buy 3 of each in one order. My last order totalled under $27 (shipping included) from www.airzoimaging.com. Can anyone beat this (without doing the refills yourself)?

That is cheap - at the moment the BCI cartridges are $1.39 each, 12 x$1.39 = $16.68 +pp on www.airzoimaging.com
How many sets have you put thru your printer and has there been any problems?

Let another noob welcome you to the Nifty Stuff forums. Perhaps one of the OTs will give us a proper welcome... ;)

I don't look for the lowest price. I look for the best value - combination of quality and price. I've been using swiftink.com ink tanks in my iP3000 for some time and I'm very happy. They normally charge $4.95 per tank, but have quantity discounts and frequent specials in varouns forums. We've had several 35% off sales on the Anandtech forums (under which I stocked up!) and a 15% offer is currently running on Heatware.com. For the iP3000, you should only be using the BCI-3 for the one black, the colors should be the BCI-6 series. The 3 series are pigmented, while the 6 series are dye based.
