Hi everyone
I'm new in this web and i need help about my printer
I have canon pixma 10s pro I have install new ink using pgi 72, but the printer was offline more than 1 year because it was for my father in law, was using it for printing photos etc..
so yesterday I install the ink and i run test page its work fine but when I'm trying to print doc nothing happen just empty paper
I run cleaning and work fine, I tried after that to print picture did not work just empty photo
can be problem the printer head or I need to run cleaning for the nozzle like deep clean ??!!

Hi @piko, and welcome, the first thing you should do is to eliminate the things it can’t be, so for now just run 1 nozzle check and post it up here so we can see the state of the print out, don’t print anything else, and certainly no deep cleaning please..

Yes sir I will show you just what I did yesterday, just what print out
I run 2 time cleaning but after that give me out of ink for the Pgi M and Y also C with red X on it so I stop everything and i order the inks before that it was showing low level on the inks up

Good you stopped cleaning (I killed printheads this way by impatience).
Personally I would bath the printhead (in demineralized water for the iron) until (almost) no color comes out.
This will help the new ink to clean the eventual last obstacles.
1 year inactivity is not so long.

PS: don't throw away the empty carts nor THE ORANGE CLIPS. You (or someone else) will need them for refiling.

That is a serious issue, first thing to do is remove all carts and print head, then place the print head in a dish of warm water and put in a squirt of Draft washing up liquid, about 2” deep.

Leave it to stand for an hour and then repeat the same, and while you’re waiting purchase a complete new set of carts, that’s if you don’t have them already.

To reinstall the print head, remove from the dish and shake off most of the water then thoroughly dry it in a very warm place for several hours, when that’s done squirt a few drops of Windex onto the inlets where the carts sit and inset it back into the printer.

Before inserting all the carts give them a good shaking, then close the lid and wait till the printer goes quiet (several minutes) then run anther nozzle check and compare to the previous ones, if should be near perfect if not run 1 normal cleaning cycle and leave the printer to sit for an hour, then print another nozzle check..

The printer should now have a perfect nozzle print and you can print anything you want, hopefully the print head was not damaged when you first started up the printer, I know all this extra work might be a pain in the ass but it may save you having to buy a new print head.. I hope it works out..
P.S. Retain all your old carts and always keep the orange clip on the bottom..

Sorry I don’t do videos, because I don’t like them.. To old fashioned..
Once you dry the print head properly then you won’t do any damage.. Patients is the key..

I don't think the printer will clean itself, in particular with the actual carts.
Chances are it won't do it with new carts either, at least you risk to spill most of the ink.

The PRO-10 inks contain more resin than the PRO-9500 ones, and these can cause nasty clogs.

If I was you I would give the printhead an overnight bath before attempting further salvage.
