Hello,
I bought the printer late-2020, fully functioning, no issues whatsoever. Around 2023 I burned the Cyan print-head out (through stupidity) and in December 2024 found a new, original Canon print-head to replace it. I have not been able to get anywhere near a decent print-head alignment since installing the new print-head, and this is after several manual /automatic alignment procedures. Also (and what I assume to be related) I get a (megenta-ish) band of distortion on the first few mm's of any print.
Images attached showing (1) a print of the current alignment-value, after x3 full manual-alignments (...a nominal improvement only from auto-alignment); (2) an example of the band of distortion.
The band of distortion is not so well-shown, I apologise: in (2a) it can be seen between the black-signpost (above) and the red signpost (below) at the photo edge; in (2b) it's apparent in the grey of the road.
Otherwise, the printer prints clean images, colours and 'brightness' (from screen to print) as expected, and consistent. I'd add that I use 3rd-party cartridges (Octoinks) and that the nozzle-check always prints flawlessly. The new printhead is from the current Canon "official supplier". Finally, that I've not found any previous online solution to work for me (including solutions for similar issue on this forum).
The unignorable issue for me is the (magenta-ish) banding-strip on the prints. I don't know if it is related to the poor print-head alignments I'm acheiving (I recall the print-head value being literally perfect when I first got the printer) or if it's something else. Anyone know what's gone wrong?
Look forward to hearing from you.
