Sorry for being slow to respond ....we have had to be in the children s hospital in Adelaide for a number of days.
Token: Unfortunate is a good word lol. I understand about the air rushing in with the holes unsealed that totally makes sense.
And Aussieinker has contacted me. I now have the correct needles. I have decided to use the hot glue gun to seal the holes, including the German method one i did as it seems i have placed the hole in the wrong spot. I am going to start from scratch. I have a new cartridge but i shall see if sealing flushing and refilling correctly with the German method makes it usable again.
At least i know how to make "all hell break loose now!".
stratman: My tank if you place it side by side with PGI-5 Pigment Black cartridge is the same except for with label up top, my cartridge is 1 centimeter shorter in height.I shall contact Mikling after i see how the hot glue gun goes during my practice here. The flushing i certainly shall follow the advice there - i realize now i shall have to figure that out on the cartridge i already have refilled wrongly. I shall move onto looking at the link of 18 pages !? also lol.
jflan: My hand is up for the same thing! lol
Blueiced: Nope i didn't seal any holes at all.......although i trust the german method not to have to seal that one.My problem was not sealing the one i made above the ink reservoir side...basically. Bluiced if i were you i hope you determined to use the German method - trust me!
dencar: Thanks for that piece of advice i shall remember that link for down the track.
Aussieinker: Thanks HUGELY for your help offline. Thanks to you i now have the correct needles, spare cartridge to work on, AND a pulled apart cartridge to see the hole i didn't realize was there in the wall separating the sponge side and the ink side of a cartridge....with a marked line showing where the needle ought to be at the correct angle. My hole i made was at the very base not up higher where you had placed it.I made my hole at the base where the 2 letters PP are stamped into the plastic.
HAIRYBUM: err nice name lol. Does that mean the printer will say the ink is full after refilling?
Thanks loads to all of you for your replies - as you can see i have been helped by each of you - i appreciate all your help and advice. What a wonderful forum - its like a little goldmine with all you wonderful people!
blessings to you all
