@mvaccaro, you have a classic case of electrical print head failure and it has rendered the head useless, the part number is QY6-0061-000, and is no longer available, so your only choice is to get a new printer, sorry for the bad news...

A Pro 100 would be a good replacement when it becomes available on discount...

As far as I know these are out of production and sold out.
Originals should have a metallic shimmering "hologram sticker" on top of the box next to the imprint.
Search google images for "qy6-0061 hologram" ... The ebay items seem to not have it...

My QY6-0061 does not have a hologram on the box. Purchased years ago directly from Canon USA.

Hologram or not, we all know that Canon new printheads are sealed in aluminum foil and no genuine vendor will show a picture of the actual item, because they would have to tear apart the foil. Look at the pictures of this auction and judge by yourselves if this one looks like a new item, Printhead without wrapping foil; no L-shaped orange clip and nozzles dry without traces of the fluid that Canon employs to protect them.

Of course there’s always a chance that this particular unit is in good working order. I played this game three times and I was lucky once. If it were very, very cheap maybe It would be worth gambling, but .. $52 ?. Come on !.

Yes I know, the hologram was introduced as a label for genuine printheads, sometime after 2010.
I have still one genuine qy6-0049 (ip4000, 2004-2006) bought by myself in 2011, without sticker.
And several boxes with clogged or burnt qy6-0075, bought around 2014, all with sticker.
Three unused qy6-0064 (ip3000, 2004-2006) all bought in 2016, as a stock for a cheap, "like new" ip3000. All with sticker, although the printer was produced long ago, same years as ip4000.
So you are right, no sticker doesn't HAVE TO indicate a refurbished head -
- but a sticker DOES mean a new genuine canon head.
As far as i have noticed, I have to add... the refurbishers may copy the hologram too, some day...
But as for now this was the ONLY visible proof I knew.
Even when you open the bag, a good refurbished printhead may look the same as a new.
I use to inspect the noozzle row with a strong loupe, and may discover visible signs of wear, but would never get 100% clear result of the state..

Canon sold me a counterfeit! Those bostages. :rant

Just kidding. ;) I do agree that an appropriate hologram probably indicates a genuine Canon box at this time.

My print heads were purchased in 2011 from Canon direct. There are no stickers. IIRC, this was near the end of the customary 5 year parts manufacturing period from release of a printer Canon told me they followed at that time. That's why I stocked up. Maybe the QY6-0061 never received the hologram because it was discontinued before holograms became accepted practice. :idunno

Search google images for "qy6-0061 hologram"
I did search and did not see one. Not saying it doesn't exist, just that I did not see a hologram. Did you?

When it comes to the QY6-0061 print head, the OP has either stumbled on the leprechaun's pot 'o gold with a new one or it is the typical refurbished counterfeit "new" for sale. The smart money is on counterfeit. If you buy then pay with PayPal and use a credit card for extra protection against fraud on eBay.
