Canon MG5550 Service mode ??

Can you suggest a good entry level printer?
I only need to print documents (no scans, or copies), also is not essential that it has color printing, I only need B/W.
The only appreciated feature would be low ink consumption

Years ago I would have recommended a Canon inkjet printer, but today I don't know what to recommend. In my opinion the old Canon printers were of a higher build quality than the newer models with the exception of the pro models. Maybe a B/W laser printer would be the proper choice?

Even thought I can't say I have experience with a lot of printers I have the same impression too...
B/W printer maybe a good choice, have you tryed any of these?

I have very little experience with laser printers, so I cannot tell what to buy. But maybe others have some suggestions?
