I don't have the service manual for the MG5350, but according to the service manual for the MG5200 the 5C20 error is related to the purge unit and means "Pump roller sensor error".

Could an optical sensor have become ink stained?

Try cleaning print heads in printer maintenance. only take about 10 seconds. You may have to try a few times but should see a gradually improvement
