I think that chip resetters will reset all PGI-x20 and CLI-x21
I don't know if that's right as the Ebay supplier told me that it didn't and to wait till April

Only the more expensive Artech-resetter can reset any region:

this is the abstract in German from druckerchannel.de:

Whether or not you can read german, but "europischen, asiatischen, japanischen und amerikanischen" should be evident enough.

The cheaper Peach resetter (blue one). The problem is that eweko is only selling to resellers and you will need a valid VAT number to register on their site.

This is the resetter:

One could allways send me a cartridge, so I can test if this resetter can reset the regionalized cartridge.
Thanks for the offer .. I haven't gotten my IP4700 I was researching my options I have IP8600 (Same as a IP8500) at the moment and the P/H has a dead cyan element.. The only way I can get a P/H in japan is to send it to a service center and it's will cost more than a new printer :(

I was looking at getting a second hand IP4500 but these get sold for silly money on the auctions here in Japan.

do a lot of DVD/CD printing so my options are limited
