Canon IP1500 now printing, but only every other line

I did some more testing, and the lineation (is that a word?) seems to be independent of the selected paper type. However, I am able to print in high quality with no issue. I'll continue to play around with it, but it seems to be a software issue and not hardware.

This is a hardware problem, not software. The nozzle check shows that all of your colors are printing only the bottom quarter and another quarter about half-way up. This indicates an electrical problem either in your new print head or in your printer or both. Chances are your old print head damaged your printer as I pointed out this possibility in posts #2 and #5. It's not possible to know if your printer has damaged your new print head without trying it in a printer that is known to work. But that would be compounding risk and you have probably reached the point of diminishing returns. I would call Canon and tell them what is happening and maybe they will be nice to you and offer you some compensation. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
